Naew Na asked the public to keep the calls coming into immigration's 1178 report line under the auspices of chief Lt-Gen Sompong "Big Oud" Chingduang.

This followed a raid on a warehouse in Moo 4, Wat Pradu, Muang district of Surat Thani in Thailand's south.

Immigration and labor department officials found Chao, 26, and Chow, 43 working without a permit.

They appeared to be doing jobs reserved for Thais according to regulations promulgated in 2017 and revised in 2018.

jobs for thais? so why aint they been employed then?

Employer in trouble?....

Thais just cant do wrong it seems.

Its mindboggling this effort to discredit any and all foreigners. Maybe im making outrageous assumptions here but it sure seems so.

Yeah how can you be a bad guy for wanting to work, better than being a mugger or bag snatcher they are the bad guys

Obviously the employers are oblivious to the rules!? Either that or they are willing to cut their salary budget by hiring them -  until someone steps on toes. No mention of penalties to the company that profited in the meantime (at least that I can see).

Some questions arise:

Why would those 2 Chinese guys want to work there?

At a warehouse?

Wouldn't they get a higher salary at home, not having to stay in a foreign country with all the hassles?

And why are there no Thai employees?

Is it hard to find 2 people to work in a warehouse?

Is the salary too low?

That brings us back to the first question...

Thai employers also get fined 100.000 baht / or jail term when employing without work permit

that is...if the law is applied of course
