Hi Guys

I'm coming over next Monday for a month but my flight doesn't arrive until 7.00pm

Can anyone suggest a SAFE means of transport (if there is one)

I usually use bell travel buses but they don't seem to run after 7.00pm

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Cheers

Geoff

Taxi 1500 baht from the airport....if you can get a Pattaya operated taxi (pre booked) it will cost 1100-1200 baht................OR airport rail link to Ekkamai or Morchit then bus....much cheaper 300 baht? and takes longer obviously

Hi

Where is ''Bongkok'' ? lol

Well i presume you arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok

so you can use the 120 bahts bus to Pattaya

the last bus start at 10 pm, you arrive at 7 pm so it's ok

cost isn't an issue but my life is, had a few taxi rides in my time and they were a bit scary, one in particular was a fur king madman

You are welcome

and i see the safety is your priority

(I agree some of the taxi drivers are just crazy on the road)

this bus schedule is one of the safest way to do Bangkok\Pattaya

never heard of an accident with them and the bus drivers act always very wisely.

nb i don't know where is your hotel in Pattaya but the bus has 3 stops in

the city, the first two stops are on Sukkumvit road (Naklua and Pattaya Klang)

where some mototaxis are ready to ask you a lot to go to your hotel.

If your accomodation is near soi bukkaho, second road or beach road

it's better to go with the bus at the last stop at the terminus on Thappraya road

where you can jump on a baht bus (Jomtiem\Pattaya, cross the road and go in

front of the Pan Pan Italian restaurant) and go on second road for 10 bahts.

You can send me a mp if you want more informations about it.

cheers

last small details

the bus is often full (A lot of the so called big spenders indians are well aware of the tip)

so you need to wait the next with a place

(1 bus every hour in low season, 1 bus every 30 minutes actually)

so faster you go to the ticket lane and less you have to wait.

take a warn cloth with you in the bus

the driver is thai, so the aircon is often on ''maximum''

and be careful at the seat number on your ticket and take

the same seat number in the bus

or you are going to be forced to change your place

if you seat down at the wrong seat number

And of course just change the minimum in the airport

the rate is pretty bad here, so have just 300 or 500 bahts for your transportation

and little spend on food and water is ok

and you can have a much better change in Pattaya in the TT kiosks or at the

art dealer (Super T, on second road just beside the boutique Paradiso hotel)

All good advice. I would add that if you have luggage, the Jomtien bus poses problems on arrival. At the Pattaya stops, AFAIK there are only moto taxis and at Jomtien there is a van/songteow transfer to your hotel but it is very expensive at 200+ baht. The bus itself is superb, very comfortable with great legroom.

Yes there is no bus between 22h00 and 7h00

so the last bus of the day start from the airport at 22h00 (10 pm)

It's not clear for you? What do you not understand?

it could be i have done a mistake in my translation

(My english is not very good)

Yes it's better to not take the moto taxis or the songteow directly at the bus stops

just walk and cross sukkumvit road and at the begining of Central pattaya road

and south pattaya road you have a songteow stop, it's only 10 bahts for the ride

(The bathbus start as soon as he has enough customers inside) and they drive you to second road where you can change for another songtoew

then pay again 10 bahts to go near your hotel.

If you go to the bus terminus it's not a problem it's on

the road of the Jontiem\pattaya songtoew (10 bahts for the ride)
