The only way money earned by Chinese own companies to send to China  would be by money  laundering. Money earned in Thailand remains in Thailand.

So correct.

Chinese try to get money out of China, not take money in.

You win ”Yinns Smart Foreigner of the Day”

congratulations sir.

Yes indeed, if the proposed hotel/casinos are built - starting in Pattaya which could become part of a Chinese Special Economic Zone, like Sihanoukville in Cambodia, within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

I fear that what has happened in Sihanoukville will happen to parts of Thailand, but only when casino's are legal, and that's probably not too far away. China is like a virus. It just spreads slowly and insiduously until it occupies it's host...

They can have Pattaya if they want. No great loss.

What a $ h 1 t  show Pattaya is!  Let them have it ... like throwing a pack of dogs a bone, to keep them out of the rest of Thailand.

There will come a time when countries limit tourist numbers....either by direct bans or by fees.

The groups tours everywhere are becoming a real pain for so many places eg: Italy, France, Chek republic and so on.....they a real pain for individuals tourists also, extending queues and having to battle with the tour leaders through sites.

Certainly it's put us off Europe and the UK.....

It took 4 committees, a sub committee to oversee them, and a super committee to watch them all to figure that out.

Funny thing is, they will screw it up eventually. Sink a few more boats or crash a few more buses where many Chinese die. You can almost see the news now.

More Chinese?  In smoke-belching busses, or bullet trains?  More pennant-following hordes with no manners?

Sure, that’s bad enough.  But what about the ChiCom government—pumping in hot money inflows into Bank of Thailand on a daily basis?  How much more will they pump in?

The Thai have killed the goose that laid the golden egg and are too stupid to see it. Why would any sane person want to visit a country with dirty cities with dirty beaches, and a high chance of dying on a Thai bus or passenger ferry.

Or falling off a balcony, drowned in a pool, or get killed by some ladyboys who make it look like suicide?

Yinn, the Chinese are involved in all kinds of illegal businesses. That includes drugs.

Many of them open businesses, then claim that they made a hell lot of money, and it gets back to China as clean as a baby's ar_e.

Yinn, a serious question, Why is it so easy for Chinese men to marry a Thai woman, and in a short period, they hold a Thai passport?

I've been living here for 17 years, started teaching 15 years ago, but nobody ever offered me any of these privileges the Chinese seem to have.

Have you ever heard of the Chinese Triads? Or the Secret Societies?

Here's a great article about your own country that you might not even know. I know what you don't learn in history.

This is exaggerated hyperbole. 1) The Thais have not killed any geese. 2) Plenty of people, sane or otherwise are happy to visit cities,  some parts of which are dirty and some clean. 3) Some people do not care about beaches and the many people that do care find a plethora of beautiful clean beaches in Thailand. 4) The chances of dying on a bus or ferry are miniscule.

This story is "UTTER" Poppycock! Chinese Tourism brings ZERO economic benifit to Thailand! Any benifits go tovChinese only!

You need to get out more. The Chinese spending pattern may not be apparent to you but the fact is they spend loads of money here in shops, supermarkets, restaurants and also pay for tours. Soon there will be Chinese venues in WS just as there are Indian and Arab venues.

I see many Chinese in Pattaya and Jomtien Beach as well as some in Hua Hin.

I think their money is as good as any tourist, there are just some jealous people

on this forum.  I have had more discomfort from Indian people smelling bad, than from

the Chinese, who seem to know at least how to keep clean.

Geezer

This would be a tragedy of epic proportions. And the tiny minds at the TAT and within the administration do not even see it. That is how blinded they are by cash, and arrival numbers. The quality of life would be greatly diminished for every traveler who comes to Thailand. Massive number do not translate into a benefit for society. Choosing quantity of quality is a tremendous error in judgment. Thailand is only able to attract the low and lower middle class amongst the Chinese and Indian tourists. The ones with money have too many other options, and cannot get what they want in Thailand. Quality tourism is going to continue to diminish here, and is currently a pale shadow of what it used to be, and as a result millions of Thais in tourism are hurting. The hurt is going to get much worst.

One can only hope and pray it leads to the eventual ouster of the hapless army, who have the well being of the Thai people and our ex-pat community as their last priority in the world.

By 2030 Thailand will be a fully integrated province of China, so those predictions might well become reality - they even could be a bit too conservative and modest.

Hope not but plenty of other places will be by then.  LOS is just a few subs and trains (and perhaps a new A.C. carrier) away.

The Belt & Road initiative is still believed by many gullible countries to be their saving but, Oh how wrong they are!!

7.5CNY.

Haven't you got another copy and paste you can bore us all with? This one has gone completely stale after two years of reading it daily. You just look daft now.
