The Election Commission (EC) has agreed to file a case in the Constitution Court seeking dissolution of the Future Forward Party overs its leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit allegedly illegally granting loans to the party.

The EC petition cites Article 72 of the organic law on political parties, which prohibits holders of political positions from receiving money, properties or any profit from illegal sources both knowingly and unknowingly.

However, Narinpong Chinapak, president of the Law Council of Thailand, has argued that Thanathorn’s loans are not an illegal source of money as he has made contracts according to the law.

He also said that the EC petition did not seem to be completely transparent and tried to illogically link the loan case with Article 72.

But the election commission don't see any problem at all to let a former general

who takes the power (From the hands of an elected democratic governement)

with a totaly illegal military coup from the hands of an elected democratic governement

becomes the first minister with the support of all the corrupts and puppets party at his boot

The major parties must be very concerned about the strength of the Future Forward Party to go to such lengths to get the Constitution Court seeking dissolution .

The Constitutional Cpurt does not concern itself with layers relating to (possible violation of) the constitution.  They said as much when people asked the CC to look into the goverment's oath not meeting what is dictated by the constitution.

With each passing day, Thailand seems more like Cambodia (except without the English language skills). There is so little effort to even appear democratic or fair.

Good point tho' I suggest that it is (marginally) more like Myanmar-which also has better English language skills.
