Popular Post rooster59
Customers in Pattaya’s famous bars and nightclubs down a whopping 40% Image: Sophon Cable A key industry figure has painted a grim picture for night clubs and bars in Pattaya during this high season. Speaking to Sophon Cable TV, Damrongkiet Pinitkarn, secretary of the Pattaya Entertainment and Tourism Industrial Association said that the number of tourists visiting bars and nightclubs, for which the town is synonymous, has plummeted. Mr Damrongkiet said there are 40 percent less tourists visiting such venues compared to the same period last year. “In this high season before the New Year, the number of tourists at night clubs and bars have significantly decreased compared with last year in this period,” Mr Damrongkiet. He said that Chinese tourists don’t really visit bars and instead prefer to rent villas and hold their own parties rather than go out. Mr Damrongkiet also echoed the comments from other industry leaders made earlier this year, admitting that many Chinese tourists are now visiting Vietnam instead of Thailand. He did say, however, that Indian tourists were still visiting Pattaya they enjoyed visiting some of the town’s bars and nightclubs. But while there had been a resurgence in Russian tourists, they too often choose to stay away from the nightlife venues. “Chinese tourists have decreased while Indian tourists are roughly the same as last year. Russian tourists have increased, however, they don’t often go to nightlife or entertainment venues. The report on Sophon Cable TV centred around the Pattaya’s nightlife venues and not tourism overall in the city. The news follows similar comments made by Mr Damrongkiet in July where said he revealed that tourism in Pattaya was down 30 percent. The reduction due to a lack of Europeans visiting the city, he said. “The days of Europeans visiting Pattaya in large numbers are over”, Mr Damrongkiet said. This resulted in the bars and nightclubs being empty earlier in year. However, according to Mr Damrongkiet’s latest analysis, business for Pattaya’s nightlife and entertainment venues is about to get worse, not better, despite it being the so called high season. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2019-12-14 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info 1

If numbers are down by 40% you need to increase prices by 67% to get back to the same revenue - 40% of 100 = 60%. Divide the original 100 by 60% and you get ~ 1.67 11 2 2

Popular Post OneMoreFarang
It's some time ago that I was in Pattaya. But when I look at Bangkok's nightlife everything is getting a lot more expensive. There was a time when I just ordered drink after drink for myself, maybe friends, and one or two pretty girls. But over the years the prices increased dramatically. So now maybe I drink a little slower and does she really need a 2nd drink 10 minutes later? After two or three it adds up to real money. I know one reason is that the rents are a lot higher than they used to be and many girls have discovered that they can get more - if they just decide to work together and not against each other. The cheap times are over and I would be surprised if this would get any better.

Popular Post phantomfiddler
The mathematical formula is quite simple. The number of paying Farang customers wishing to come here to spend money on the nightlife scene will be inversely proportional to the number of Indian groups roaming the streets looking for prey. I already know of condo pools where Farangs no longer use their swimming pool due to "Asians" washing their underwear in said pools with a bar of soap, I guess a cleaner substitute for the Ganges. And it,s going to get worse ???? 16 1 3
Popular Post cyril sneer
the tourists are still there in numbers, though they just walk past the nightlife and take photos instead also I doubt the gangs of 5-6 Indians that take 1 girl to a room stay for very long in the bars

Popular Post spidermike007
Years ago, many Western tourists came here, and were willing to spend hundreds of thousands of baht, while on vacation here. Also, there were tens, if not hundreds of thousands of ex-pats, many of whom spent 100,000 baht or more per month. Where did all that revenue go? Why are those people gone, baby gone? Who, or what drove them out? The authorities here have only themselves to blame, for the massive collapse of the tourism market. I am not referring to the tens of millions who fill up the airports, and clog the streets, but bring little in the way of revenue. But rather middle class tourists, and wealthy tourists who used to frequent this nation, and have not come back for a dozen valid reasons. Talk about biting off the hand that feeds you. 28
