I thought Pattaya / Thailand catered for every budget. ????

Foremost, the majority of the guys on here came for the girls to Thailand, whether they want to openly agree to it or not. I wonder how the expat community and this forum would look like if Thailand would be like Pakistan, but only with beaches & palm trees. No need to cover this up ???? Everybody came here because they got a younger girl living with them. In fact, all of the guys around me, through all age classes, they all got a younger Thai girl living with them. Availability of woman ... if that would not be here in Thailand, I highly doubt most would be still here for so long and go through all the hurdles and moved on. Exactly as you just stated, one reason you're here, hookers. Ans as most are here. Thanks for agreeing with me. nothing wrong with that, if that's what you're after. Most here try to say it's the beaches, temples malls, etc etc etc. illtip my hat to u, you're honest, can't fault you for that.???????????????? Unlike in the West there is gradient between hookers and available young women here. A lot of wild cards in the deck. If all there was here was the Western equivalent (hardcore) there would be fewer expats.

Lots of rooms. My favourite condo place behind Big C Extra on Klang has a lot of choice and prices running 700 to 1100 baht. I used the dates Dec. 22 to 27. What I have noticed is that, throughout the year, it's become easier to get a room and especially more affordable the last year and a half compared with 2-3 years ago. Hotels definitely have downward pressure on their per night prices. Nice hotels are going cheap on the internet. Much the same as bars charging 55 or 65 baht a beer, when in the past, they were charging 80 baht a beer. It's a race to the bottom.
Thomas J
As Mark Twain said there are three kinds of liars. There are liars, damned liars, and then statisticians. One post from the government shows a record number of tourists, the next that tourism and bar and restaurant traffic down. From purely a visual estimate, Pattaya is busier than it has been in months but still not what it was a couple of years ago. With the THB high and the hassle given to European and American tourists it is no wonder that some of the usual haunts are down.

This is what a lot of members struggle to understand. In the past, when western tourists made up the vast majority of tourists to Pattaya, when tourists numbers were up, so was revenue from them. Now, Chinese and Indians make up the majority of tourists to Pattaya, and their numbers are up, but they don't frequent the traditional bars, restaurants and nightclubs that enjoyed western tourist custom in the past, so despite their numbers being up, the money from them is down, way down. I have no doubt many 7/11 and Family Marts are seeing a huge increase in sales, particularly of certain products, but that's not great for hospitality establishments.

Yes, plenty of accommodation available. There is no high season here anymore. The calendar year is evened out by a steady stream of cheap package holiday Chinese and Indian tourists. Numbers will increase for the peak season, which is the Christmas and New Year period for 2 to 3 weeks, but other than that, it's just monthly loss after monthly loss, for many establishments here.

Probably true for establishments (mainly bars) targeting farangs retirees, or even cheap charlies farangs. It was a big risk targeting such a small weak customers base. Many bars, restaurants and other that do well with a wider base though.

Pattaya beach has been widened and is very clean (can't say the same about the water) I don't do plumpers. Plenty of slim ones to choose from. Thai food doesn't have to be salty , greasy or fried. Wide range of Thai dishes outside these parameters. A pad thai in the UK would probably cost you 10 times the Thai price. Trying to justify the mistake you made relocating to Vietnam? Pattaya Beach is not clean Most Thai food is salty greasy and fried. Terrible food. Why would I want to buy a phad thai in the UK when there is so much better on offer ? I never ever eat Thai food outside of Thailand. Try some Italian/French food in their respective countries and report back. Maybe you are stuck here and cannot do so.
