Get real...  Here in Surin there is a Thai woman that buys a <deleted>load of good BBQ chickens and goes around almost nightly feeding all the local soi dogs. She has been doing this for at least the past 3 years....  and then in Chiang Mai there were a group of farangs that fed local stay dogs in the Banwangtan mooban. They fed, watered, even fixed/spayed them as well as found them homes and relocated them...  I guess everyone that is passionate about the well being of animals is crazy in your eyes.....Hmmmm

Well, a few days ago, in the same Buriram province about 40 kilometers away from Chour's "operation" a 3 years old girl has been killed by a stray, there is thread here on TV about this sad story. As far as I am concerned all stray feeders bear a responsibility for every child that gets injured, maimed or killed by these dogs. But my only claim here is that the strays must be seen as public health issue, and dealt with accordingly.

I have watched this whole saga from the start and person who started the push visited Thailand only once and really has no connections with Thailand at all. No knowledge or understanding.

 

That person is cheered on by a few local foreigners also "charities"

 

While i totally agree if shelter is doing the wrong by the animals, it should not be allowed to continue, i can not help but wonder, what IF it gets closed down, or the guy is deported or jailed, what happens to all the dogs? who will take over?

 

His funding has been cut already. He paid tax for last years 1.8 million and apparently just as much us due this year.

 

So IF they take away all the money he (may have stolen) again who will provide and take care of the shelter?

 

When this whole saga started, another 2 shelters were dragged into it.

 

One being with dogs from Cambodia, and Michael, cut off all their funding and food, leaving guy who runs it and dogs starving.

 

Then another one,(will not mention names) voluntary decided to close down, because the same individual in Australia started to throw accusations of abuse and neglect,all their animals are been moved around the country, 8 already died.and many still looking for shelters.

 

Even if there is funding, it also requires for someone to step up and take it in as a full time job.

 

Really hard situation, where how does one decide what is right and what could happen if one is wrong

Hmmmmmm...  I wonder what the parents of the 3 yr old was doing? So many times do I see toddlers barely old enough to walk roaming around without a parent in sight....and then there are those cases where the so-called family dog has mauled and killed the child... Can't blame that on stays, can you?

I know a "farang" who runs a successful business. His mother-in-law insisted that the workers get paid way less than the minimum. Her justification was that they are from across the border. My friend insisted that they be paid above the minimum and receive other benefits too. He told the Thai mother in law that if the business was not making sufficient money to pay people and treat them properly then it wasn't worth being in business. He won the argument. Hey: That's an anti-Thai pro Farang story. Bet that doesn't get reported.

But the most disgusting part is while enjoying things that they dont have at home, they are insulting the natives in the worst possible manner. Majority of these are the TVF top level keyboard sandos! And it seems daily, the count is going up on this category very fast.

The saying “And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own?" is very appropriate for this matter IMHO.
