border to Trat is less than 1 hour, some nice hotels and a mall

PP Riverside to Trat is about 8-9 hours driving

so add on another 2 for a bus

Well Im in no hurry, so Im gonna split the journey and stay the night in koh kong, then cross the border in the morning and head to the Island. Got to figure 2 hours to cross and get to Trat, another hour to get to Ferry, another hour to cross and get to hotel.....have a fat hearty breakfast and hit the road.

Just now, my friend I said:

Some people were refused entry into Thailand yesterday at this crossing. Don't know why. There is a woman in the office now. She isn't in uniform but she gets to check every passport. And they ask you where you are leaving Thailand.

Right on. Did you pass through then with no problem?

Have done that route many times, yes start in PP and stay one or two nights in Koh Kong. There is a waterfall about 30 km from town, rent a bike it is a must see. Also the is a board walk in the mangroves, pretty cool. Watch the sunset at one of the river bars to finish the day. The ride to the Ferry pier to Trat is 2 1/2 hours. The ferry is 35 minutes to Koh Chang. On Koh Chang rent a bike and see the east side, more jungle and great views.
