webfact
Three Chiang Rai districts hit by hailstorm By The Nation A hailstorm hit Mae Sai, Chiang Saen and Mae Chan districts in Chiang Rai province on Saturday night (December 28) and felled several big trees, causing destruction in the area. Some of the fallen trees blocked the road and damaged many houses. Electricity supply to the area has been disrupted by the damage to more than 100 electricity posts. Chiang Rai Governor Prachon Pratsakul has ordered responsible organisations to aid the locals affected by the storm and to evaluate the destruction. However, continuous rains in the area have made it difficult for officials to provide aid or evaluate the damage.
