Crossy
Many (many, many) moons ago I and some friends walked the Tham Krasae Bridge. Now some other friends are coming from the UK and would like to do the same. The plan would be:- Drive to Tham Krasae Bridge station. Ride the train to Tham Krasae (other end of the bridge). Walk back before the train returns from Nam Tok. Still possible? Permitted?
Kan Win
Hi Crossy, Wampo Viaduct. I think so, as there have been no reports of not being able to do so, on another forum that I am on relating to Kan Travel. If you are going, go during the week-day and not on at the week-end. Some photos from many a moon ago:- https://pbase.com/win13/tracks Hope this helps you and our fellow members. Win ????
Assurancetourix
Hi Crossy , " The plan would be:- Drive to Tham Krasae Bridge station." Why not ; but the road is a dead end ; you will pass near Muang Sing Historical Park https://travelthailand.me/muang-sing-historical-park-the-only-khmer-art-in-kanchanaburi/ Some personnal photos I shot many years ago " Ride the train to Tham Krasae (other end of the bridge)." Only three trains in the day ; the 909 is a special tourist one , departure from Hua Lamphong station in Bangkok only saturday and sunday If you like to shoot photo , take the first one , at about 5.45/6.00 am at one of the two Kan'buri stations The main station The bridge station Other end of which bridge ? There are many bridges along the line The " bridge " at Tham Krasae " Walk back before the train returns from Nam Tok." see timetables above .. Have a good trip ; Yes, we can walk on the rails but do it carefully ...
