Image: The Pattaya News The group from Songkhla were holidaying for New Year and wanted to rent several jet skis on Saem beach. They agreed a price of 700 baht for each of four jet-skis and while waiting were taking pictures. One of those arrested told the media that this enraged the owner who demanded they stop filming and allegedly began swearing at them. The group then wanted their money back and a melee ensued. Locals helped round up the miscreants who were then all taken to the mainland in the custody of the Pattaya constabulary. There the 12 men and 8 women were tested for drugs. Eleven men and all eight women came back with positive purple tests on their urine. Police are delaying charges before the exact nature of the injuries have been reported. All the tourists are in custody. 77kaoded said that a video of the melee caused much comment on Thai social media. They'd start a fight in an empty room would some of those people. Poor show from the cops <deleted> testing them btw, drug driving on a jet ski (which they never actually commandeered in the end) is a pointless kick in the balls really. I am white though so its the customary discriminatory racist pricing where im violated and treated like an object instead of a human being... and i gopro every ride. Never been scammed apart from the initial price which i do haggle.. Perhaps it was less expensive because the hire was for several vehicles, and also being bigger they may concerned you will damage the ski??
