billybobjoe
Hi All, I'm on a Non-B extension + work permit valid until 21 Feb 2020. Acquired from BOI one stop visa center. My employment will end on the same date as the expiration (21 Feb) Is there any action needed by me or the company to properly cancel the work permit? Planning to fly out on 21 Feb (or few days earlier) and start a new visa process. Any help would be highly appreciated. mrwebb8825
Employer needs to write a letter (fill out a form) for the Labor Dept. canceling the work permit. Not sure about other companies but schools are now being fined up to 20,000 baht for not canceling WPs and you can't get a new 1 for a different company until they do. The visa dies when you leave the country. Employer CAN write a letter to immigration and notify them you will no longer work for them but don't think it's needed.
