rooster59
Government House opens its arms to children By THE NATION National Children's Day is being celebrated in Government House on Saturday (January 11) with numerous educational and fun-filled activities to promote children’s learning and their relationship with their parents. The events started at 8am with a public tour of Thai Khu Fah and Phakdi Bodin buildings, two important structures in the Government House complex with classical architecture. Among the highlighted activities were access to the Prime Minister’s Office where the first 20 children can sit on the PM’s chair. Saran Tosomboon, 11, became the first to register to visit the PM’s office and sit on the prime minister’s chair. He said that his family had travelled from Nakhon Ratchasima province specifically for this annual event for five years in a row. His mother also showed reporters a photo of Saran taken with PM Prayut when he had visited the office the first time. The events also feature an interactive model of the Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai province to demonstrate the heroic rescue mission of the youth football team and their coach back in 2018, a tour to Royal Insignia Museum and Jesada Technik Museum that features a royal motorcade and classic cars. There are also a number of game booths and dinosaur statues. Last but not least children and parents can visit the Government House News Centre at Naree Samosorn Building where children can experience reading the news in front of a working camera and enjoy the first-hand experience of political journalism. Also joining in the celebrations are public and private sector organisations who have set up booths to provide stationary, sport equipment, toys, foods and drinks to all young participants. The celebrations at Government House will end at 3pm on Saturday. On the day of the party, The Nation ran a story headlined, "Children in Bangkok should wear masks when they go outdoors, state authorities suggested". ????
