South African helps Thai police catch fleeing meth suspect A South African man helped police in Ban Chang, Rayong, arrest a man in possession of methamphetamine and Ya Ba yesterday afternoon. Ban Chang police had set up a checkpoint on Sukhumvit Road outside their police station but Jarae, 43, failed to stop on his motorcycle. Security at a housing estate saw what was transpiring as the police gave chase and lowered a barrier. The suspect left his bike and took off into the housing estate on foot followed by the police and security in hot pursuit also on foot, reported 77kaoded. Christiaan was coming out of his house on his motorcycle and seeing the commotion joined in the chase and soon had the suspect in a citizen's arrest. Christiaan had good things to say about the RTP. He praised the police for keeping Thailand safe with DUI stops during the holidays and said he feels safer because of the Thai police. The suspect has been charged with possessing drugs after 1.98 grams of Ice and one Ya Ba tablet along with drug taking equipment was found.
