Thai media reported that the mayor of Saen Suk district responsible for Bang Saen district had blown a fuse on social media after vandals damaged a number of tables and seats at the beach.

He is part of an influential family well known in Thailand.

Narongchai Khunpluem said that the people responsible were probably drunk and lamented the fact that CCTV was not installed there yet.

77kaoded suggested that tourists were responsible and went to the scene to investigate. Some repairs had been made and some damaged items had been taken away as evidence.

Local seafood seller Patchamon, 44, reckoned those responsible had been drinking there at night. She had never seen the like of it.

There were bottles of lao khao (a Thai white spirit) found smashed at the scene.

The people responsible may have angered the wrong person. Mayor Narongchai is part of the family of former Saen Suk mayor Somchai Khunpluem known as "Kamnan Poh" or the "Godfather of Chonburi" who died last year.

He was convicted in 2004 of having a man shot and later jumped bail.

Another member of the family is Sontaya Khunpluem, the mayor of Pattaya since 2018 and a political adviser of Thai prime minister Prayut Chan-ocha.

Another website says it was "Foreign tourists" and no mention of Laa Kow ( white spirit )

Quote

44 year old Ms. Patchamon Saekuay who is a food vendor at Bangsaen Beach and a witness told The Pattaya News she saw in the early morning foreign tourists were sitting there and drinking heavily. She did not know where the tourists were from.

She is not sure if they had a physical altercation, she told officers. Nearby, Police found many broken alcohol bottles and signs of a potential fight. Other witnesses have allegedly come forward also stating a group of intoxicated foreign tourists were responsible.

Maybe  Burmese,Cambodian or Lao  toursits ???????

Have the police checked the bottles for fingerprints?

Surely they can compare them with the fingerprints on the Thai ID system or those on the biometric passport system - assuming they have any?

Lacking evidence of who did it, this seems like just further denial of the truth so close to home. It comes back to the "local people couldnt have done this," so it is automatic to lay the blame off on soneone else.

Have many people see them.

witness= evidence right

But should believe the TVF who not witness, not there, only imagine, and say it must be thai people right?

Because foreigner never do vandalism, graffiti temple wall, smash ATM machines, woman shop, McDonald’s clown right?

I think I believe the witness.

A powerful fool then? Sick of all these somchais with bloated missguided egos.

Assuming they were tourists? Dont need to prove guilt here?

"TOURISTS"!! Off with their heads.

Yes loads of tourists come to Thailand these days to drink lao kao and sit on a concrete bench at the parking lot....they call them quality tourists and they always get a warm welcome from the local soidogs..
