Taal Volcano in the Philippines Erupts During Couple’s Wedding Ceremony

Recommended Posts

A couple in the Philippines pushed through their wedding ceremony as the Taal Volcano erupted on Sunday.

Chino and Kat Vaflor’s wedding was held at Savana Farm Tagaytay by Solange in the city of Tagaytay, about 10 miles from the still erupting Taal Volcano.

Wedding photographer Randolf Evan captured dramatic shots of the ceremony with volcanic ash spewing in the background.

Evan told CNN that he and his team were constantly checking social media for any updates about the Taal Volcano.

“We were actually nervous because while working we kept on checking social media for updates on the volcanic eruption,” he said. “So we were actually aware of the warnings and escalating levels that was being announced real time.”

“We also discussed discreetly among ourselves what we should do when worst comes to worst.”

Fortunately, everyone at the event remained calm while the couple exchanged vows as the volcano erupted behind.

In addition to the pictures taken by Evan, the venue also shared a picture of the wedding taken by photographer Warren S. Garcia.
