Popular Post webfact
British expat arrested for selling counterfeit watches in Pattaya A British man has been arrested in Pattaya for allegedly selling counterfeit luxury watches. Acting on a tip off, police arrested the 44 year old British man, named Mark, at a condominium on Pattaya Beach Road at around 2pm on Tuesday. Police seized 12 counterfeit watches, which they say have an estimated street value in excess of 100,000 baht. Police said Mark sold the watches to unsuspecting customers via Instagram and WhatsApp. An Instagram profile which lists the watches for sales was still online at the time of publishing. Mark was arrested after police launched a sting operation by pretending to be a customer interested in buying the watches. Following his arrest, Mark revealed he bought the watches from a 45 year old Thai man who has now also been arrested. Police seized a further 40 fake watches from the Thai man. Both men are now facing charges of selling counterfeit goods, while the British man may also be charged for working without a work permit. Mark, who has lived in Pattaya for several years and is well known among the expat community, was described by a friend to Thaivisa as a “loveable rogue who just lost his way” -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2020-01-15 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info 1 2 2

Popular Post CelticBhoy
He'll probably have to do some 'time' for this. Let's 'face' it, he deserves more than the 'strap'. Just put his 'hands' up and confessed, so he did. 2 1 2

Granted, what he was doing wasn't right, but it wasn't exactly harmful to Thailand, was it? Is a ban really necessary? Give him a fine and let him know if he does it again the consequences will be more serious. Banning him from Thailand seems extreme and unduly harsh to me, and hardly fitting of the crime. 11 1 1

Usually that can get a person banned. Thailand is in a position to be picky.

rumak
The real reason he was arrested was that when the cops came to "talk with him" he kept screaming " Wai ! ? Wai ! ? " . Obviously something was lost in translation ............ Edited January 15, 2020 by rumak
