webfact
Chilled! Jomtien burglar is in at the deep end.... Picture: Daily News Acting on information received Pattaya police went to Jomtien beach where they arrested 38 year old Thanongsak Lertna near Soi 2. Plenty of Thais were on hand to say that this was the guy who had been stealing from their places this week. Among his thefts were $400, 20,000 baht and an iPhone. But one resident caught him on CCTV having a skinny dip in their pool as if he owned the place. Not surprisingly Thanongsak is now really in the deep end - he tested positive with a purple urine test at the police station. Now he will be prosecuted for burglary and drug taking. That's part of the stretgy to check licenses. Cop asks for license, driver says don't have, cop says 200Baht in my pocket and you can go. process completed in 2 minutes, very efficient in fact. This routine probably happens several times an hour, nice income stream. 3 1

So why doesn't Plod get out on the road instead of static bandit points? Pattaya ransoms driving licences at the rate of 10K an hour every hour of the day yet Chonburi is the 2nd most accident prone province in Thailand which is the 2nd most dangerous country in the World. ChaiyaTH
Kind of funny how Thai jails are full of caught drug users, who then can buy and use drugs in jail.
