webfact
Govt making it easier to decide where to buy medication By The Nation Three thousand kinds of medication will soon have a QR code on the packaging allowing purchasers to compare the retail price at independent pharmacies to that offered at private hospitals. Whichai Phochanakij, director-general of the Department of Internal Trade, said on Thursday (January 16) he had asked the Thai Pharmacies Association to get large pharmacies to submit lists of the prices they charge. The initial focus is on 3,000 drugs available online at www.dit.go.th under Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients. “People viewing the website or scanning the code will be able to decide whether to buy from the pharmacy if it’s cheaper or fill a prescription at the hospital,” Whichai said. Burma Bill
I wonder if INSULIN is on the list. At the moment, I have to sit 2 to 3 hours in my local Government Hospital just waiting for the doctor to sign a prescription which the hospital pharmacy processes.
