Popular Post rooster59
Video: Cops shouldn't get drunk after work - just go home and give up the booze, says chief Image: MCOT TV Municipal CCTV footage from a soi in Ban Beung, Chonburi, caught a gang of men attacking an off duty policeman in the street. The senior sergeant major was knocked unconscious but did not suffer serious injuries. MCOT TV reported that the Ban Beung station chief Pol Col Thawee Kutthalaeng said this was an attack on a private individual as the officer was out of uniform. The protagonists and the policeman were involved in an argument not an ongoing feud. It happened near a pub in Soi Prayote Neuang Jamnong 1 at 12.40 am on Wednesday morning. The men would be charged with assault after all those concerned had given evidence. The chief said that those under his command should go home after doing their duty and not go to "improper places". And if they could give up alcohol, all the better. Cricky
I have always thought it strange how the police here get on so well with the Taxi Motorbike riders. I find it difficult to understand how police can socialize with the riffraff. In Australia the cops tend to keep to themselves. 1

Sometimes we hear that a tourist has had something stolen and the cops have miraculously returned it, they probably get to know who's hanging around the local area and robbing people from the taxi guys, sometimes.

Scot123
What a prat of a commander. Maybe better just to ban drinking in uniform (I have a sneeky suspension that is already the rule/law but like so many just ignored).
marquis22
Looks like the black dog got a couple of kicks in also and then went back to make sure the cop wasn't going to get up in a hurry. ????

rkidlad
I have no problems with police officers getting drunk after work. It’s the corruption that bothers me. How about you stop doing that, chief.
thailand49
This is good advice but better although off duty is review and then suspend the officer if necessary that would be a lot more effective than asking? Asking a Thai to give up the booze that is like asking them not to take tea money? Edited January 18, 2020 by thailand49
