NAIROBI (Reuters) - The world’s richest 2,153 people controlled more money than the poorest 4.6 billion combined in 2019, while unpaid or underpaid work by women and girls adds three times more to the global economy each year than the technology industry, Oxfam said on Monday.

MANILA (Reuters) - A restive volcano in the Philippines has a high risk of eruption as it is “recharging” with fresh magma and rising emissions of toxic gas, a top scientist said on Monday, while authorities ordered commercial establishments to stay shut.

Taiwanese expat, Thai wife caught with 160kg of corals at Koh Kaew house

PHUKET:-- A 55-year-old Taiwanese expat and his Thai wife have been charged under the new Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act after they were found in possession of 160 kilograms of corals at a lobster farm at their house in Koh Kaew.

Hua Lamphong station to remain open after Bang Sue station opens

BANGKOK (NNT) - The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has confirmed the Bangkok Railway Station or Hua Lamphong, will remain open but with fewer train services radiating from the station, after the opening of Bang Sue Grand, which will serve as the new central station for Bangkok.

Exports to Middle East performing well

However, the ministry has suggested exporters carefully manage risks presented by exchange rate fluctuations.
