Sanook reported on the case of a Thai man with a record for drugs who refused to stop for a police on his way to a friend's house in Tak, eastern Thailand two weeks ago.

Patsak or "Fun", 27, had a friend riding pillion and raced off not realizing that it was a dead end near a waterfall.

He crashed his motorcycle then both men went separate ways. Patsak ventured into the jungle.

Police waited for him to return but then gave up.

When relatives in Nong Bua Tai sub-district reported him missing they saw that his bike was in evidence.

A search party was organised after appeals to the Tak governor were made.

Finally after 13 days he was found in an exhausted and messy state. He had tied himself to a tree not wanting to fall down a slope.

He believed his last day had come as he could go on no further.

He said that he had survived by eating olives. He had used his clothes to wrap injuries sustained while fleeing.

He was blackened by soot because of crop burning in the area. He had hugged rocks warmed by the burning to keep warm in the cold nights.

He said he fled the police stop because he had been jailed twice in the past for drug offences.

A one hour operation was conducted to make sure that Patsak was safely in the ambulance and on his way to hospital.

Sanook did not mention any charges had been made against him. No mention was made of the pillion passenger either.
