Pictures published by 77kaoded showed the utter devastation wrought on a pick up that was parked in the downtown area of Sa Kaeo city last night.

The driver had stopped for a bite to eat in a restaurant by a bank and 7-Eleven on the Suwansorn Road.

His pick-up was crushed by an 18 wheel truck-trailer on its way after delivering a load of sugar cane to a factory.

Police said the vehicle was traveling at high speed and suffered brake failure.

Just ahead of the devastation was a mound of animal feed corn and another damaged 18 wheeler.

No one was injured.

Muang district police are investigating.

Very fortunate he didn't decide to have a take away. Difficult to see anything surviving in that truck.

I don't know what it is about sugar cane that makes the drivers so abysmal. They overload the trucks and crawl along, deliver their load then drive back like Lewis Hamilton.

Before something really terrible happens, remove these ANIMALS from the street !

Ain't never going to happen. Life is too cheap here and there is no mindset to tackle these problems.

Brake failure just a excuse. With that weight and at high speed no brakes on earth are going to pull that truck up in a hurry. Try brain fade, not brake fade!!

The sign on the side of the truck says UP, he could not get any higher.

That sign is short for “this side up”.

The truck driver was watching an episode of The Dukes of Hazard and got a little excited.

Or maybe he thought he could time travel into the past and get home before he even left that day.

brake failure my arss! just not possible. Complete brake failure or just a trailer, what? never an explination! Anyone investigate the brakes yet? We live about 3km from a sugar can factory and all these douche bags are yabba dabba doers, always drunk and drive like absolute idiots. Take up the whole road and block traffic like they are so dam important. Really miserable society these days. Im sure decades ago when i first came here life wasnt this crazy. More population, more greed, more drugs, more corruption, less tourists.....
