ThailandRyan
In 60 days my girlfriend, who is from Myanmar, needs to obtain a new extension of stay for here in Thailand, as her extension she is currently on expires at that time. I am not sure, and neither is she as to what the requirements, and documents needed, are for someone from one of the ASEAN countries. She does have a daughter who is a Thai citizen, but was never married to the father. The daughter spends half of each month with us. The extension she was given in 2018 was good for 2 years. Does anyone know what documents she will need to show at Immigration, and as I have found there are only certain Immigrant Offices here in Bangkok she can go to. No luck finding anything on the internet or making phone calls, other than what I am required to show for my extension of stay and visa. Additionally, should she wish to travel, would she need the same type of re-entry permit as myself in order to keep her extension valid. I hope someone can help here with this issue. ubonjoe
She apparently has a Non-la visa that is issued for legalized laborers. A re-entry permit is needed to keep the 2 year stay it allows valid. The locations of the offices with contact info for them is here. https://division1.immigration.go.th/content/imm_service_center_mou There is not a lot of info available to apply for a new visa. Perhaps try contacting one of the offices about it. Some info is here on a Labor Ministry site. https://www.doe.go.th/alien

Popular Post samran
Basically ask via the Burmese grapevine how to find an agent to do the paperwork. Technically your GF is here on a 2 year work visa available to migrant labourers from neighboring countries. They are more or less indefinitely renewable, but it is is a fairly complex and cumbersome process involving health checks, employer authorizations etc. And lots of waiting. Technically to get this visa your GF needs an employer to sponsor her, and this can who can be a company or individual, thai or foreign. In the end she’ll get a 2 year visa, a work permit and government health coverage. An agent should be able to do this for about 10-15k and you should be doing it now as the permits expire in March from memory. I used to do this myself for our nannies and house keepers and despite speaking Thai, the process simply is too cumbersome now to bother with individually so getting an agent will save you tonnes of time.
