As concern grows about the spread of Wuhan Coronavirus, analysis of flight schedules has shown that the Thai capital, Bangkok, is the top international destination for travellers from the central Chinese city.

Yes, there is a quarantaine imposed by now over the province of Wuhan, yet it seems that many people from there were already travelling by the time the quarantaine was established. Happy Chinese New Year, though !

He's looking at forward bookings. Y'know, people who have yet to travel.

Wuhan is not a province. It's the capital city of Hebei province.

Yes. The entire city is on lockdown as of this morning. It’s probably a lot worse than they are telling the world.

Looking forward to the TAT spin on this.

Why? If the Chinese Government is not telling the truth how would TAT know?

Whatever spin TAT want to put on it, and whatever the Chinese want to say the fact is that the World Health Organisation are deeply involved in it and not from arms length. On the ground. There's representatives at every press conference.

It was the WHO who said close the city, and the Chinese closed the city, despite the fact that it's CNY tomorrow.

How you can manage to get TAT in the mix I don't know but if that's your axe, feel free to grind it.

Another UK tabloid. Tomorrows chip wrapper we said in the days of newspapers being an entity.

Correct on the death toll, 'up to' means they don't know how many infected. It's around 473 as of last night.

This is a very serious situation. 547 cases have been confirmed. In China alone! It takes time to check that many people. In the meantime, those people have been interacting with the neighbors, acquaintances, business colleagues etc. They’ve been taking planes, buses, autos, taxis...and touching a lot of things that multiple people handle.  Like a steering wheel, condiments in restaurants, suitcase handles, tray tables and arm rests, and touch screens...  if the virus has mutated, you can double the exponential rate of growth... wear a mask, wash your hands, Carry hand sanitizers, and avoid crowds, if you can. This is no joke. Dismissal of initial warnings turn small outbreaks into epidemics, and epidemics into pandemics.

Not really, Common cold kills approx 70,000 with cases a year globally, flu variations many more... biggest problem is its Chinese new year and what that means for travel.

A town 7 km from where the virus was discovered in Wuhan had a state run banquet with 100,000 people eating off of the same dishes. This was 2 days after 49 cases were confirmed in Wuhan. Bet that helped it along.

You can panic if you like.
