Siamchon News reported that a lone robber on a motorcycle snatched a female Chinese tourist's handbag near the Lan Pho market in Bang Lamung around 8 pm last night.

Fenyi L., 23, and a friend were trying to locate their tour group leader and their bus when the thief struck.

The white bag contained her passport, 7,000 baht and 8,800 baht value in Yuan.

The media reported that the theft happened within 50 meters of a police booth - but that had not deterred the thief who escaped into the night.

Bang Lamung police are investigating.

This location is super safe - for the thief. All policemen are asleep.
