Popular Post Phulublub 1,306
Off to the bank this morning to use ATM, update passbook and obtain letter...all good so far. Down to Jomtien where I have to pick up TM7 - somehow managed to eat, burn or otherwise lose the bank copy I picked up last year. But no matter; five mintes later back at the desk to pickup my number, 836. Display at 830 as I sat down and under fifteen minutes later am at the desk . The the fun begins. I thought I had everything I needed: TM7 photo Passport photocopies of orginal "O"Visa, all subsequent extensions, latest entry stamp and TM6. Bankbook photocopies of 12 months transactions (I know only 6 months required, but for THB4 in copy fes, why run any risk? Similarly, I absolutely maintain THB800,000 for three months before although only 2 are required). Condo Lease Flick, flick, scribble, scribble. Stop. I had overlooked copying the first page (wth my personal details) of my bank book. And what did the Imm. Officer do? Reached over the desk, put my book in his copy machine and made the required copy. I must be in a dream...Jomtien Imm being helfpul? Then to passport. Flick, flick, Stop. I was unaware of need to photocopy all previous METVs (I had two before I got my "O"). New requirement I think as not remember being asked before. What did he do? Over desk again and made the copies. After the stories here, now quite certain I am in some parellel universe. All good, THB1900 paid, come back tomorrow after 1400. Thank you Sir In and out in under 30 minutes. Thank you Jomtien Immigration. PH 17 5
Popular Post gk10002000 6,883
Nice to see that done. Not nice to see copies of previous copies always being submitted again. Then the stuff goes in the back room and then?? Surely the Jomtien office must fill up with paper weekly. Then what? All paper moved to secure, safe storage area in Pattaya somewhere? Held for xxx number of days? Immediately thrown out? Sent to archiving where everything is scanned and electronic files made of each person? The latter could come in handy for investigative or research reasons. Or do they just simply toss every thing out and rely on what they entered in their little database online system(s)?

They probably have a contract with a recycling paper company i can easily imagine a truck coming on a weekly basis for 4 or 5 tons of papers. over a year should be some decent money easily earned for the office. i came to this conclusion because 8 months ago i have moved from a condo to a new location, i have filled all the forms and given all the copies to Jomtiem immigration office for they know my new adress. 5 months ago i have done a trip in europe so at my return i have filled a TM30 and again given all the forms and copies needed to Jomtiem immigration office. 3 months ago i have renewed my extension of stay so i have again filled all the forms and given all the copies, included my lease agrement (5 pages) for the 3th time to Jomtiem immigration office. And last month when i was here to do my 90 days report, they still have the wrong place for my location in their computer !!! Go figure !! gk10002000 6,883
I think I might refresh the hand held scanner my sister gave me for Christmas. A person could easily amass quite a pile of paper themselves!

I have many times been given blank forms only to find some unknown persons passport page on the reverse side. So much for data protection over here. 3 1 2

Max69xl 2,763
"photocopies of 12 months transactions (I know only 6 months required)" Is 6 months required because of the new requirements from March 1 2019,or what? I have never copied more than 3 months of transactions from my bank book. Last year in May only 2 months because of the new requirements.
bobonzo 78
In Samutprakran the IOs have a copier right next to them at the counter. They had made a few copies for me when I missed something out. I've always found them friendly and helpful.

I'm staying in Jomtien, and this is the first time ever I've heard about an officer copying something when someone forgot a copy. They usually say, "you need a copy of this,go make outside and come back".
