NE1
Just lately when I start the vehicle I get 5 clicks from behind or near the glove box. Then they return intermittently as I am driving. Some times not for half an hour , sometimes after 10 minutes. Always 5 short clicks. Any ideas please......There are no warning lights and the vehicle drives okay. Kwasaki
If you can't check wiring yourself get it checked could be something electrical. Could be something nesting in the aircon filter department.
transam
Are the electrical relays located in that area, or under the hood on the nearside......?

NE1
Yes , it first starts when I turn the ignition before I start the engine.

So I thought it might have been a quick fix. Having said that , I went out this morning 15 - 20 klms. Only clicked on ignition turn and no other time . Very confusing. They (FORD) know the problem, so just take it to the dealer when you have time and get the part changed out. (PS. It is not a safety issue. Took me a few months to get the time to take it into the shop, so make the trip when you have a spare day). Cheers.

Popular Post NE1
But it wasn't okay last time. It still clicked on ignition turn . So maybe someone else wants to add something. You can't just instruct somebody not to post about it anymore . Lancashirelad
Sounds like a dodgy relay clicking. You should be able to tell which one by listening close to the relays in the fuse box or touching them with your finger as someone else turns the ignition on. Might be possible swap it with one that isn't important such as heated rear window. Edited January 25, 2020 by Lancashirelad
Popular Post NanLaew
The noise is from the air conditioner vent actuator motor in the climate control system. Common fault, some click like the OP's while others make a 'grinding' noise. It's caused by dirty contacts in the 'sealed' unit which causes the actuator motor to 'hunt' for a setting. As mentioned earlier, it's a common fault in Rangers and Everests and the dealership service can replace it which shouldn't take long if they're not busy. I have replaced a couple by myself, took about 45 minutes but one does need skinny fingers and an offset screwdriver to get at the 3 screws. If the OP is lucky, he will only need to replace the one on the passenger side. I have had the second one on the driver side get noisy as well and that's a bit harder due to the pedals getting in the way. If you are overweight, you won't be able to contort yourself into either foot well so take it to the shop. IIRC it cost around 580 baht for the part (but don't quote me on that) and you can add on a minimum of 1-hour labor which is around 500 baht/hr (but don't quote me on that either). 4
kwonitoy
What NanLaew says I've replaced the same component on my 2013 Wildtrack 3 times now. Not a clicking sound, when the truck is turned off you can still hear a venting sound, turn ignition on and off and then it stops.

Be careful of any unsolicited phone calls from Thai chaps that speak good English, know your name and politely ask if you have the time to chat first before identifying themselves as Ford Thailand's Senior VP of sales and then advising you that due to your much appreciated brand loyalty, you will automatically get free services at Ford service centers all over Thailand for as long as you own a Ford vehicle. So yeah... be very careful out there.
