This biometrics story in Thailand may have something to do with that. It's my view that these SE Asian countries are doing shady and corrupt dealings with the information obtained from foreign tourist's information including biometrics. The only thing I can think off is that it is a form of insurance where he keeps the government on their toes with what he knows. I don't think he is doing it to protect his pension! I look forward to the PM (and all others in power) pushing him with warnings in the public domain.
