webfact
Thai man murders his neighbor in argument over washing line outside his house Picture: Daily News Shocking CCTV footage from a housing estate in Ayuthaya showed the moment a 56 year old Thai man murdered his 57 year old next door neighbor by driving a car straight into him. The victim's wife said there can be no doubt about the intention of the neighbor to kill her husband. The pair had been known to argue about a washing line that was set up in the soi outside. Pol Maj Kamphon Inthewong and rescue services found 57 year old Suphan Yatbanthung about 50 meters from his house lying dead from multiple injuries. Outside his house were parts of a car and damaged flower pots. CCTV showed the killer - known to be Phaiboon Sangsan, 56 - back-up in a car then plow into his neighbor who was tidying up and watering his plants. There were two boys in the car. Phaiboon had been hired to take them for football practice. The car was found damaged and abandoned at the football pitch parking lot 3 kilometers away. The assailant had fled. A warrant is out for his arrest. Daily News reported that the assailant is a motor cycle taxi rider and was apparently driving another neighbor's car to take the boys to football. The victim was a public works engineer employed by the Department of Rural Roads. His wife Pankamon Rasamee, 41, said she was making lunch and was not aware of any argument. She came out when she heard a loud noise and saw her husband lying in the soi and called the authorities. CCTV footage left her in no doubt as to who was to blame and his intentions. She said she was not aware about her husband arguing with their neighbor but Daily News said it was over the washing line. They said that both men were on the committee at the Krung Sri City housing estate in Klong Suan Phlu where the incident happened. z42
Fail to see how this is djfferent from shooting or stabbing the guy. As he was driving i inagine the laws will give serious discounts as multiple precedents have been set in other such major news local stories. The wai sounds pathetic also. CNXexpat
Thais are killing others because washing lines or other small reasons but never farmers for setting fires and poisoning the air for them and the kids. THAT would be be a real reason.

Popular Post spidermike007
Well, I guess that argument was settled. What can one say? There are an awful lot of people here who have not developed sufficiently, on an emotional level. Especially a portion of Thai men. It has alot to do with being told how special they are, while growing up. They are not special. No man is automatically special. When we make some contributions with our work, our service to our families, and our communities, and when we behave in an honorable, and graceful fashion toward others, then we earn the right to be called special. I recommend to all Thai parents, that starting at the age of three, they tell their sons: You are NOT special. You are just an average human being. Your sisters are smarter than you, they work harder, they are more ambitions and they are more clever. They basically run this nation. Until you demonstrate something to society, you are average at best. Make a contribution. Earn the right to be called special. 5
Andrew Dwyer
The guy lived next door had a long feud with the poor guy who died over cooking smells and encroachment onto “his “ personal space with the washing line etc. Woman over the soi asked him to drive her two sons to football practice, wasn’t even his car . Sat behind the wheel years of pent up anger arose and .........well.............he lost it big time !! If the ‘Murderer’ has put up with years of the deceased encroaching onto his space, cooking smells etc getting into his house etc this may just have been the very 'straw that broke the camels back’... It must take years and years of frustration to drive someone to such a response, or the Murderer was a total crack-pot... Either way, he’s not facing a live time in prison for his stupid actions in snapping and going to the extreme. Jane Dough
One of the most pertinent lines in the OP is that they were both on the housing committee. Big resentments can build up in such circumstances. Of course no excuse for this utterly terrible event....fair put me off my breakfast it did. Yinn, you’ve transliterated ‘special’... what Spidermike is getting at with ‘special’ is also referred to as the ‘little prince syndrome’. Many of us have witnessed this in Thailand (and many other countries) where the emotional development of young boys from childhood into adulthood has not progressed at the level one ’should’ expect from a mature society. Instead young and adolescent boys are doted on by mothers and fathers play a distant parental role. As such this lack of guidance can lead to adults who lack the emotional skills to intelligently handle disappoint, criticisms, loss of face and any form of verbal conflict. These ‘children’ have been treated as if they are special (i.e. highly valued, can never do any wrong, have been poorly disciplined), the consequences of this ’special / little prince’ treatment are what we see in society today when every day normal disagreements blow-up into a catastrophic and often tragic over-reaction. On occasion I have struggled with my Wife (Thai) to ensure that our son grows up with the emotional balance required to see him through to adulthood maturely. I believe balanced discipline and providing a child with the emotional tools to handle disappointment in any form to be an essential parental role. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon in Thailand (or a number of other countries) that the importance of this essential parental role is not recognize, we read the consequences in the news. And... Man is not stronger, woman is not more clever. 4

Yeah, if the food has any base of Kapi like a Nam Prik Kapi or a dried fish being deep fried up, then this stuff could literally drive you berserk. Stinkiest stuff on the planet, but delicious after made.

And women die because that decision. Shot, bomb, house gone. Because of man. Thai man, but more war is foreign man. And most Thai man agree, this man kill the neighbor is idiot. Same the gold shop robber. I think SpiderMan not have thai man friend. So he feeling intimidated. Like to complain about thai man. 99% Thai man not same this guy. My dad, my brothers, my male friends, cousin etc etc. Good luck with you son. And, man is stronger, woman is more clever. Sure. 90%+ of killing other human, the man do.
