Yes, totally under control... 10000000000000%

The daily amount of new cases is extremely worrying. So is the amount of infected in serious condition, who will add to the death numbers in time.

Anyone stating this is under control have lost their mind. The more infected, the higher chance of mutation. And with this growth, it will not take long for A LOT to be infected.

I am sure China choose to close down their cities for a very good reason. Their reaction alone is a good reason to be worried.

My guess is that there is a good chance of the PM will have some explaining to do in a couple of weeks. But of course the blame will just be put on others.

He disclosed that the Public Health Ministry has already upgraded its readiness, in line with the situation, and has mobilized all resources available to be posted at various locations, including air and sea ports and border crossings, to screen tourist arrivals, especially those from China.

I crossed the Trat-Koh Kong border crossing 5~6 days ago. Neither medical checks, e.g. fever, nor any questions about the Coronavirus, e.g. Have you been to China? Have a cough? were asked by either side. The Quarantine Office on the Koh Kong side was closed!

Ahh... Note that the quote posted above says that the ‘resources’ are *to be posted* [when?] *at various locations* [wouldn’t all locations be more appropriate?]

He has never lied. Pollution is under control, Road accidents is under control, corruption, etc.

Best government ever. The world should learn from his examples and maybe we can stop this virus today with a song?

Would that song be ' I did it my way ' ?

Time to be worried folk, if Prayut says it is 100% under control, once again his is bul++iting.

Why does he make stupid comments like that, as he knows like everybody else it is not under control.

This seems to a response to the #crapgovernment hashtag that has been trending on Thai twitter.

Thai people are more and more upset about government seemingly not caring about the people, evidenced by lack of response against pm2.5 levels and letting Chinese flood Thailand with corona virus. This is what #crapgovernment is about and it seems like he responded to both of the concerns in this statement.

Ofcourse his statement is pure nonsense..

What the absolute <deleted> ?? Is this guy some kind of idiot?? The World Health Organization doesn’t have this under control but the jokers in Thailand do ??

i have seen some ludicrous stuff from governments over the years around the world but this is the absolute winner !!!

Yeah the nonsense coming from this guy's mouth is on another level.. he either lives in a complete fantasy world or he simply thinks people are extremely stupid to believe his pure nonsense.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ------- "and that he will personally take charge of overseeing the operations of all related agencies to deal with the virus, as well as the PM2.5 dust pollution".

OMG well that has put the kiss of death on dealing effectively with both issues.

Just like all the past issues he has put his 2 cents worth in that he is the fixit man for the job and all were and continue to be a total disaster!

Thailand we are all screwed......

The point is the Chinese government might close its border to stop travelers from getting out.

Lots of Chinese tourists and business people have stopped have decided to stay home.

Ive been digging around the internet about this supposed mutated virus from the Chinese eating snake and bat meat. The stories been changing, they say it originated at a Wuhan seafood market. What about Wuhan being a center for the Chinese military biological warfare center and this virus being accidently released into the environment! If you want to know the truth the information is on the internet.

If a few people in Thailand start dying from this, that is when you're going to see panic. You ain't seen nuthin' yet. The only question is will the government be able to redirect Thai people's anger to foreigners from themselves or not.

If it was (Thai) logical to close the schools for PM 2.5 (it wasn't - they breathe the same or worse air at home) then it is logical x10 to close them now for say a week to give breathing space so we have a better idea what up to date info is coming out of China and to protect some of the more vulnerable groups immunologically, children from acquiring or spreading the virus.

That said broad brush strokes actions like this span the delicate line of spreading panic and fear vs robust action leading to confidence in the authorities messages.

Buffalo Prayut has always everything under control and don't worry he personally will be in charge of the virus.

Maybe he should find some competent guys instead of himself!

Now you in deed need to worry!!

How he even dare to say everything with the virus is under control. No country has it under control. But he will prove us how small the new cases and death numbers will be in Thailand. For Prayut numbers have no meaning and can be altered to make him look like Thailand's health emergency hero!
