Thai govt considering suspension of visa on arrival for visitors from China

Recommended Posts

This begs the question:  Outside of the regime, does anybody really like the ChiCom regime, or the Chinese hordes?

Thailand is the country with the second most number of infected patients, totalling 14.

Is this because they stopped reporting the updated numbers a few days ago? What is the real number and what will it look like come February 7?

Considering! Small as they are, Malaysia has already done it. And their tourism industry is no where near Thailand in terms of size. Meanwhile, you pansies are still faffing about, hanging on to the tourism money and arrivals and putting everyone in Thailand in potential danger.

Malaysia's tourism industry used to dwarf Thailand's.

Only in recent years has Thailand taken over in terms of numbers.

Thailand, through extreme myopia, put itself into this position. By putting all of it's eggs in the basket of China, they opened themselves up to a tourism and economic tragedy of immense proportions. It was an inane decision, made by people with little to no experience in tourism, hired based on cronyism, or nepotism, and entirely without merit. When you reach for the bottom of the barrel, this is what you get.

The Thai people are in for a world of hurt. Tourism was already in a near crisis stage, due to an extremely xenophobic and racist administration. Now?

I do feel bad for the common Thai. However, in a sense they allowed this to happen, by allowing the totally incompetent army to take over. The only solution now, is to get them out. Hopefully, the youth will rise up. The army is truly despised at this point in time. They are beyond useless.

"When you reach for the bottom of the barrel, this is what you get".

I couldn't think of better words to describe this government. Well said (written)

Thailand set to suspend visa on arrival for Chinese tourists

IMG_7202.jpg

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will today propose to the government to consider suspending granting of visa on arrival for Chinese tourists to tighten control to fend off possible spread of coronavirus.

The proposal comes hot on the heels of the World Health Organization’s declaring the novel coronavirus outbreak a public health emergency of international concern.

The minister,   in his capacity as head of an ad hoc committee tasked with handling the health threat, dismissed as a fake news reports in some local media that as many as five million people from Wuhan have visited Thailand during the Chinese New Year festival. He insisted that only about 20,000 Chinese from Wuhan city had entered Thailand during the period.

We were in a Moo Grata Buffet restaurant and some Chinese speaking tourists came in and all and I mean all the Thai guests were concerned they claimed to be Malaysian but no ID was shown.
Even if they let them in they probably aren't going to get a warm welcome in most places they visit.

Every Thai person in the restaurant was angry the government hasn't blocked the Chinese yet.
This was in a Hillside resort in Phetchabun the last place you would normally find any Chinese tourist.
