Patient in Chiang Mai hospital found to be carrying coronavirus

But the patient is still alive, right?

See?  In order to be effective, a virus must strike a balance and not be too virulent and kill it's host before it can spread.

That's why the Black Plague virus is extinct.  It was too virulent and killed it's hosts too quickly. ????

How does any hospital know if you have the so-called Corona Beer Virus?

Take a DNA sample of spit or mucus and send it off to a lab for PCR DNA testing.

From Business Insider...

"In the US, tests are being done [by]  a "reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction" test, or RT-PCR, which can convert RNA into DNA and amplify genetic sequences, making them easier to study and compare.

Results from each test come back in one to two days."

This is why quarantine is important before test results come back

Cheers ????

Maybe the PM should ensure the future of Chinese tourism in Thailand by going to the airports and personally meeting and greeting and shaking hands with all new Chinese arrivals in Thailand?

Nothing to worry about, surely, it's all 100% under control, lol.

The Pm did this a week ago, he said he was not going to stop Chinese tours as they could keep the situation under control. The Thai locals do not think so, they are very worried.

He said people would lose a lot of money if the Chinese were stopped altogether.

Will he still be taking selfies of himself when a full blown epedemic breaks out.

Very wreckless attitudes by Thai authorities, where there is smoke there's fire.

Who will take the blame if that does happen, it seems to have begun ,is getting bigger and if it goes viral there could be some problems for the enlightened ones.

Hazmat suits are totally inappropriate given that transmission is either by air or touch - overkill....

Either a N-95 or an air purifying respirator plus gloves and eye wear or face shield if very close contact like a nurse...

Which makes me wonder if this virus is as described. Who would suspect any government of lying about problems that may impact income? Hazmat gear is completely over the top if transmission is as  reported. Hmmmmmm.

The bio metric finger scanner will have the the desired effect of spreading this virus.i bet it don't get cleaned as much as my car.

they are clueless to what is going on.just take a look at the picture.if someone walks into that hospital who's infected the two nurses are the first in line for a dose.

who's paying for the hospital treatment for all the confirmed and potential coronavirus patients from China who have been staying in various private and public Thai hospitals for treatment and testing?

Throughout this entire process, thus far, I haven't seen one peep about the financials for all of their treatment, and all those who will require it in the future.

Maybe it is the responsibility of the Thai government now that Non Immigrant O-A Visa holders from western countries must have insurance so if they get hurt and get treatment at a hospital they cannot not make payment.  Remember, supposedly, we are the people responsible for the outstanding burden of debt that has made Thai hospitals flounder in debt.  Also, we owed the money to hospitals because we would get treatment and leave the country without making payment.  (That was a bunch of untruths, in the main, anyway, as far as I know, although it did happen and was usually performed by short time tourists from many countries.)  How does that fare for the Chinese with this virus?

'nuf sed.
