rooster59
More than 100 patients under coronavirus watch in Krabi By THE NATION The Krabi Provincial Public Health Office is monitoring more than 100 patients suspected of carrying the Wuhan coronavirus, and five of them must get additional blood tests, Wittaya Watthanuengkowit, the office’s doctor, said on Friday (January 31). “Currently, we are monitoring over 100 patients who came from China; 10 per cent of them were Thai people,” he said. These people had fever or other symptoms and were treated in several hospitals in Krabi province. Presently, they have been allowed to stay in hotels, under close monitoring of the hotels’ managers and medical teams from both government and private organisations. However, five patients must go through more tests. The province has quarantined them in the hospitals, while their blood test results are awaited. “This time we have ordered all hospitals to provide more than 100 rooms to exclusively monitor suspected cases of infections in the future,” the doctor said. “The 100-plus tourists from China will be monitored for another 14 days, he added. Cake Monster
Every day now we hear of more cases of Corona Virus. Today its Krabi that is monitoring 100 suspected cases. There are cases of the Virus almost everywhere now, but the one place that has no reported cases is good old Pattaya, or have I missed a report or two. With the number of Chinese Tourists the City hosts on a constant basis, i would have thought it would have been the number one place for infections. Really, really lucky I guess.

Popular Post khunpa
Not to worry. Thailand is very good with numbers and you can be sure that only very few will be infected and it is under 100% control. Dumbastheycome
So if those being monitored have similar symptoms but are diagnosed with a variant of influenza which also can and does kill why are people less concerned about that? A single sneeze can infect a small room full of people. Wearing a mask is no real protection if you do not add goggles anyway.

Globally half a million people die of malaria every year. Then there are loads of other deceases you can get or getting killed by traffic. Even if you get it you have less than 3 % chance you die. People are getting panic attacks and make each other <deleted>ting themselves. There are controls enough for the amount of people infected here. Close to 50% fatality rate. Over 11k people have been diagnosed and have it. It takes around 11 days till death sets in, there's a lag in the data and every journalist reports the rate wrong. Those idiots simply look at the amount of infections vs deaths - which makes no sense as it takes 10-15 days to die. Recovered rate vs death is the only meaningful metric, the sample size is small tho. Will likely go down - but we won't know after another 10k people are either recovered or dead. Will take around a week i would estimate to see the real numbers. However it's nowhere near the 2% fatality rate spread by bs media. So far half of them died. 2 hours ago, Assurancetourix said: How old are we when we are old? Irrelevant. Pneumonia kills young and old. Of course it's even harder for old and really young ones, but pneumonia can also easily kill a 25 year old fit dude. The worst is that in a real outbreak there are NOWHERE NEAR ENOUGH breathing machines available ANYWHERE in the world. I don’t see any discrimination unless you are talking about discriminating against the Chinese. The Chinese need a visa to visit Thailand whereas most westerners can come in visa exempt for 30 days or more. Since you’re a newbie, I guess you can be excused for not knowing the facts. 1

The above is 100% complete and utter rubbish. These numbers are talking about those admitted to hospital with pneumonia like symptoms. The vast majority of people are slightly inconvenienced by this virus and then go about their business like anyone else but with immunity. 2
