Aspaltso
Does anyone have recommendations for accommodation, and activities in kampong Thom?
my friend I
On the main road Seng Cheng Hon good view from the rooms at the back. Vimean Sovan has better rooms. There are plenty of ruins around that aren't in good condition. Best to have your own transport or get a guide. It is hell hot there.

This is what I'm after. I had an idea, but you've confirmed it. Any nice places to eat you'd recommend?
my friend I
I wouldn't say there was anywhere special to eat, not that I found anyway. Maybe look where the tour groups stop. Some on the main road.
grabue
Kampong Thom Royal Hotel, new with nice rooftop bar or Kampong Thom Palace Hotel on the main street. They have a few rooms with a balcony, also new. With big pool. Not a lot do do there. You can visit Sambor Prei Kuk, an old hindu temple complex. It's said older than Angkor Wat
