Please tell me how this will? If a Chinese tourist has a medical certificate saying they're fine then they can enter. However, as has been stated many many many times there can be a 14 day incubation period. Therefore, no symptoms would show on an initial medical certificate. Also, seeing as China are restricting flights out of the country, if a Chinese national is already showing symptoms at the airport there then they won't be allowed to leave anyway. I see literally no way this is helping to stop the spread of the disease at all. Stopping the flights, as other more switched on nation's have done, is the ONLY way. 13

Since when was Thailand good at enforcing rules? They can't even better the PM2.5 problem - how on earth can they deal with coronavirus. And it isn't just 'farang' saying this. Go on Twitter and Facebook to see how the locals feel. People are worried and they don't trust their government. No one cares about what Prayut says when it comes to serious issues. People know they have to just ignore him and find their own solutions. This isn't some girl twerking or over-priced lottery tickets. This is a serious issue that needs proper leadership to deal with it. Edited February 4, 2020 by rkidlad 10 1

sahibji
showing medical certificates, however genuine, will not solve any problem. in fact it give false sense of relief. due to the incubation period of the corona virus carriers may not show physical symptoms at the time of the medical examination. such carriers may show symptoms while they are in thailand and possibly infect others, being in comfort that they have a clear medical exam. Emdog
Just another attempt to cover officials backsides, show they are "doing something". Would this do anything to slow virus spread? EricTh
I think this is a more sensible approach rather than a blanket, racist ban like what some countries do. There are many people with various diseases from all the world, we shouldn't ban them just because a small percentage has that virus or disease. Eg. There are many countries with HIV carriers, but we don't see any ban from these countries... why? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_HIV/AIDS_adult_prevalence_rate Clearly, this is racially-motivated by certain anti-Chinese countries. Then explain how the certificate will identify persons carrying the disease during the incubation period. And explain why the Chinese of Hong Kong and Singapore are racist for wanting all persons, regardless of race, to be banned from entry?

China is as huge as the whole of Europe and twice the population. If the epicenter is in London, it is not racist to ban all tourists from Europe? A country is a political boundary and not ethnic boundary. FYI, China blocked only one province which is equivalent to one country in Europe in terms of land mass and population.
