PHUKET:-- The Turkish tourist that was being held as a suspect in the death of a Phuket ladyboy who fell from a seventh-floor hotel balcony in Patong has been cleared of any charges.

Police confirmed yesterday (Feb 6) that the cause of death was by accidental fall and no blame could be apportioned to the tourist. They added that evidence proved the suspect could not have been directly involved when the incident occurred.

“The Turkish man was not involved with this death,” stated Patong Police Deputy Chief Lt Col Jetsada Seangsuree.

Free to go, only to be arrested for overstay. ???? (sarcasm)

And of-course the stolen money was nowhere to be found.

Yep. From the report: When asked if the cash and valuables the tourist had declared stolen were in Aphinyo’s bag, the police declined to comment.

So it took 1 full month to RTP to figure it out ????

It's a very complex matter working out that the accused was in the lobby at the time and that the LB was the only one seen on CCTV running into the other room.

The Turkish dude is still going to have to explain to his mates and family back home how he ended up in a room with another dude with makeup on and he/she somehow did a Peter Pan off the balcony. All the excuses will have difficulty flying, especially as being drunk will get him into just as much brown stuff as bedding a trans bloke as both supposed to be just as much of a no-no for Muslims (Haha).

...where there were two other people who could have been involved, hence a proper investigation.

Flawed thinking.

The other two were not considered suspect, nor held in custody on suspicion of murder. The guy who was in the lobby at the time of death was. He should have been exonerated immediately, particularly as there were the two witnesses to the fall.

It smells to me like an attempt to get money for the mother from the tourist, with a cut going to the negotiators.
