Aussiepeter
Don't take people on here to heart Mr T Ban, as there are some bitter and twisted old cynics on T Visa. I actually have good memories of my time visiting the Samoeng area back in the late 90's, (especially as I was getting my 'leg over' the lady I was with for free at the time) ! I hope you find someone to take up your offer or at least, get a caretaker. If I was still single and twenty years younger I'd give it a try - that is a nice part of the north, assuming of course that the air is better than CM. Cheers !

Thanks Aussiepeter, I take your advice, very much appreciate it and you are much wiser than me, I withdraw the betting I offered, wouldn't take anyone on T visa to my place. I must admit that as retirees for the last 17 years both my wife and I are too slow to catch up the rapidly changing society/human behavior . I do have two local guys ( both speak English ) who volunteering to be a caretaker/s but I said no to them as they are the local farmers and I thought it's too much for them and their families to handle as farmer's life here is harsh enough. ( no any degradation intended) And I was naively/stupidly thought it's much better to give a needy guy the livable house ( we spent 1 million baht to built this house 11 years ago and extension later) than leave it as a vacant for some years and realised that I even offended someone who think differently or looking at it the other angle. I appologies to anyone who thought otherwise to my initial intention if I caused any stress unnecessarily, I had no malicious intention or anything that sort. My offer was pure and simple for the guys who looking for the village life. Edited February 19, 2020 by t Ban
Airalee
Samoeng is a pleasant area for sure. but I assume it would be quite boring for most people. What would the “tenant” do if they want to take a vacation? Just leave the pets in the hands of a local? Who would pay for the food, veterinary bills etc? Who’s fault would it be if the pet dies? Are you just going to leave a 5 year supply of pet food? Why would you even bother having pets if you are going to leave them for such an extended period? How much would the house rent for (sans pets)? How much would it cost to board a pet in a kennel? What kind of life would that be for the pet? Usually, you have to pay for a house/pet sitter.
