Safest option for a Bangkok hotel.

Just imagine  checking in to a room with someone who had the virus.

Or enjoy your taxi  ride.  I agree.  Check your insurance policy and also your  countries travel warnings.

you might consider retroasis hotel on sukhumvit btwn asoke and phrom phong BTS stations.  it is on the odd soi side (odd numbers) roughly across from soi 22 (i think it is near soi 29).  there is an au bon pain on corner of soi 31/sukhumvit that you can use for breakfast or further down that way is the robin hood pub.  it is a small place, not expensive, get the best room (45 sqm) and enjoy !!!

I would suggest staying at a hotel which has no "confirmed-positive" guests.

Avoid any "all you can eat" buffets as the Chinese will be all over it. Eat somewhere else.

Also be careful when walking on the side walk, or traveling on the airport train.:cheesy:

Any hotel will be fine. The hysteria over this is ridiculous.

I prefer the indigo hotel on wireless road.

they are dropping like flies in China,, people are catching it all over the world in all kinds of circumstances.

Somehow (if we can believe the reports from Thai officals) Thailand seems to be an exception.

After spending a large part of my life studying Asian girls I think  it is possible to pick the different nationalities.

I have come to the conclusion that Japanese are the gold standard in that department (my wife excepted of course !).

Guesthouses, not hotels. Chinese travel in huge numbers so a 6 room guesthouse is highly unlikely to have Chinese guests.

Lots of younger Chinese travel independently and stay in small establishments

This thread, I tell you, thaivisa at its very best.

The perfect blend of ignorance, paranoia and just plain useless, basesless speculation.

Bless.

You summed it up.....but not just this thread.
