How do they know he was a tourist, because of the neck support pillow? My guess it was a robbery then they killed the guy. RIP 8 1 1

A rock tied to his neck and a life jacket by his feet. How puzzling. Then the penny dropped. Float the rock out to sea in the life jacket, throw the rock overboard and down you go. I'll go for suicide. Very sad and somewhat disturbing that there are so many here. Edited February 12, 2020 by Moonlover 13 1 3

But why did he bring his phone charger but not his phone, and no wallet? Sure it could have been dropped and not found but it's odd. 4

Popular Post smedly
people who commit suicide usually leave a note or have a well known reason like a terminal illness that friends/family would understand life jacket to feet rock to neck means it won't be long before his feet are floating and his head isn't The victims identity will be revealing if ever released jury out on this one for me I suspect we will never find out the truth Keep and eye out for anyone that has suddenly gone missing unexpectedly
Popular Post Cricky
It surprises me to see comments of RIP. You have no idea who this guy is, he could be the worst of the worst. I reckon it would be a good idea to hold of with RIP's until it is known who he is. 4 1 3
Popular Post Farangwithaplan
A flotation device around the legs alone would be enough to stop some people keeping their head above water. Add even a small weight near the head region and it becomes nigh impossible. Advanced scuba diving in dry suits (watertight wetsuit style covering that was inflated with air) used to have a test where your air was added to the suit and then you were turned upside down. The idea was you needed to climb up your own body to get the air to move to an area of the suit above the CoG. These days the suits usually have vents in the ankle areas to remove air. It would have been a terrible way to go if it was suicide. But hard to say if the person had help. Thailand certainly seems to attract the self harm crowd.

The body wear type. So same logic applies. Most guys I've known carry their phone and wallet in their pockets. It saves all that rummaging that women always seem to be doing every time their phone rings. Edited February 12, 2020 by Moonlover

Agree, and subject has been discussed quite a few times on Thai Visa with several theories put forward....... – Old and/or sick and doesn't want to carry on. – Extremely lonely. – Has run out of money, or his money has been taken/stolen. – GF or wife has run out on him. – A family tragedy that he cannot live with. – Or the fact that he wants to go back home, but nobody will have him? Plenty of others I'm sure, and I do feel sorry for folks like this, so sad.

Probably for some: "gradually, then all of a sudden".

Everywhere you go your dreams can become a nightmare, just that in western countries there is more of an effort to prevent things like this happening. More often decline in the west is slow and lonely. In places like here, it can decline a lot quicker, whatever chain of events that led to this is. 2
