I have had over 40 years of Thai food! I am fralang and do not like it much in my old age! So I eat pasta, pizzas and order often from Bourbon Street! Oh I am disabled now mostly house bound! God bless!

Thailand makes it hard to live here now since I am not wealthy!

I understand it perfectly. Just came home and missus said sit down food is ready, rice somtum kanomjeen.. I told her not wait me I am in the kitchen preparing french fried, burger and peanutsauce and all that just went in my belly.

Need to recharge myself time by time with "farang" food.

The sad, hard, dirty secret that I have arrived at after 30 years in Asi6is that foreigners don't like Asian food. Despite living here they expect to eat it no more than back home. They dislike rice and would never dream of eating it for breakfast. Spice, they simply can't handle it.

Then they complain about the cost of living ever increasing while indulging in all sorts of rubbish foods from home countries.

Absolutely never understood how farang gain/ keep so much weight on here. Well because they don't eat local. Never.

I never eat Thai food, always western, and at 6ft tall, I always weigh around 76k, though I do take regular exercise.

Often I eat Thai noodle soup or khanom chin in the market.

And my gf is a very good cook for Thai food. I love especially all the curry with coconut (kati).

But I also make my own pork chop or steaks at home.

And I like nice buffets in some 5 star hotels.

All in all I eat what I like when I like it.

When I arrived in Thailand I somehow had the idea to only eat Thai food. After a while I was not happy with that anymore. Then I eat more western food. And now it's a mix and that mix also includes Japanese food (especially sushi), Korean BBQ, etc. By now it seems everything is available in Thailand.

Yes its a personal thing

I have lived 21 years Cant eat Thai food in morning ugh simply can't face it! ...i simply cannot  vaguely see how people can get enthralled about the food

IMHO thai food is poor in comparison to most foods especially Good indian food or Middle eastern or Turkish food... or even fish n chips

I entirely disagree. Indian food is very hit and miss. In India is pretty disgusting usually.

Turkish food? Yeah I'll just step outside for that.

If you're living off fish and chips you're gonna die. That's probably worse for you than McDonald's.

It took me many years to be ok with rice in the mornings but it's a non issue now. My go to breakfast is noodles. I love noodles

gotta have noodles in the morning...with all the different instant noodles it's like having a selection of cereals for breakfast when we were kids in the west...

'the young prince was admiring his splendid selection of noodles one morning...' "not a bad assortment I must say..."

This goes to show how different people and their tastes are, i can eat Indian food for breakfast i think its the spices are different in that food, plus i am used to it

In Thailand I crave fish n chips, of course i dont eat daily in UK but i do scoff some regularly as i know i wont get it here...same with real beer!

But when i am away from Thailand i never get a craving or desire for thai food, not that there's anything really wrong with it but just to me its nothing special certainly nothing to get excited about!

OH dear God everyone is going to hate me now !

I'm guessing you're fit as a fiddle. BMI of a twenty year old, low cholesterol. Heart like an Ox.

That's the kind of thing you eat once a month if you know what is good for you.

You're promoting it as health food?

Yes Thai food is overrated, and farang food is not pies and chips and burgers and pizza,

this is what you call junk food and it is eaten all over the world.
