webfact
Education Minister checks Bangkok junior schools for health shields By The Nation Taking a survey of elementary schools in Bangkok on Wednesday (February 12) to see how well they’re safeguarded against the coronavirus and PM2.5 dust pollution, Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan stressed that health is a crucial issue right now. “We prepared a prevention plan with the Ministry of Public Health that includes informing parents and children at school and at home about the best ways to stay healthy during these threats, such as using a fork and spoon to eat instead of your fingers,” he said. Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan “We’ve also suggested that schools get their students using serving spoons at lunchtime.” Nataphol said children must wash their hands regularly because schools can be crowded and germs accumulate that could bring on disease. “If Thai students make it a habit, like kids do in Japan, it will evolve into a good, healthy culture,” he said. The PM2.5 pollution problem will take time to resolve despite government-imposed measures on public transport and construction sites, Nataphol admitted. “But we expect to have the problem under control within three to five years if everyone joins together to change the behaviour that contributes to it.” Source: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30382023 -- © Copyright The Nation Thailand 2020-02-13 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info
