Immigration’s BMW smart car comes to Pattaya - no escape for illegal aliens

This is what "Big Joke" was removed from immigration for complaining about and now he has resigned altogether because his boss told him to keep his mouth shut after he went to the media and there are a lot of TVF's members that thought that they knew everything and rubbished this man when it seems that he was the only honest one there. As for those the scream about the immigration police get out and solve the other crimes just remember that every country has some form of immigration department that only works on immigration affairs and here in Thailand that department is attached to the police force instead of it being a separate government dept. so their job is specific to immigration. There have been 2 of these BMW's parked outside of Khon Kaen Immigration for months. The cameras on the roof is for facial recognition coupled to the computer in the car which is linked through to the immigration computer base.

He has to eat, buy stuff, get around on transport, live somewhere! All net contributions to taxes. I did not say all illegal aliens. I implied if he was not committing any other offences. That is why if he were doing something illegal other than staying in Thailand they should say that, but they don't.

Ridiculous, he shows disdain for the rules of the country and you praise him?

He is mooching off the country!

"being illegal he is avoiding contributing".  ??  Do you think he might be spending money to live, eat.... ?   All i can see is that there'll one less peanut seller that's all.........    If you want contributions bring back, back to back visas at two grand a pop with a two grand extension at two months....... As simple as Thai logic..... All them visas well paid for and being milked daily in the land of the vertical smile.........

He ain't paying for an Extension and is consuming immigration police resources.

And showing disdain for the country he is living in.

Why do you think that you are important enough for them to disclose to you what he is. All you are entitled to know and your not really entitled to know anything really is that he is an illegal in the country. He has broken the immigration laws of the country. Every country has the same problem but in many of them nothing is made public.

There is one parked in Ekamai. I went to see them and how the camera/facial recognition worked. He couldn't get it to work. Didnt seem to know how?

He said he didn't like the BMW because it had no insurance! ????

Was worried about having an accident so they just park up in a small Soi for hours ????

Weren't interested in asking me anything ????

kitted out with state-of-the-art onboard diagnostics

You mean a laptop/tablet, some relevant software/app and data connection, something you can fit to any car, including a ubiquitous Bangkok taxi? It's really funny how you guys try to make something simple sound sophisticated, turn it into news, THEN feel good and proud about it!

I've no problem with Thailand enforcing their immigration laws and have no sympathy for chronic overstayers. My question is, what happens if you are not an overstayer, but are not carrying your passport (I guess that is against the law) or a copy. Are you hauled off to police headquarters for enhanced interrogation?

With all 'em Pattayan retirees who are unable or unwilling to comply with the OA visa mandatory insurance requirement being top of the target list, of course.

Could cut down the number of over 50's in Pattaya quite a bit if that's the case.

Probably a random stop of someone who fits a certain profile.

Black & foreign?  Coming back from Vietnam, people fitting the afore-mentioned profile were being singled out for specialist attention by IOs working the queues.
