Why did underline the words 'suspected virus'  ????

Because the post quoted a headline "Two passengers who arrived at NSCBI Airport (West Bengal, India) from Bangkok have tested positive for the novel #coronavirus - Airports Authority of India"

They haven't tested positive at all, they just had fevers, and as the text of the article referenced goes on to say they are only suspected of having the virus and have been isolated pending tests results.

Very true. The chances of a higher quality appointment based on merit, within this administration, are far lower than my chances of willing the $2 million slot the next time I visit Vegas. But Anutin? That is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. At the very minimum, they could have found someone with at least some experience within the health sector. I mean what gives? What on earth are they thinking? Tourism is very important to the Thai economy. So is a healthy population. A selection like this does not reflect that importance, on any level. Nor does it reflect concern for, and empathy with the vast majority of the Thai population.

They really got caught with their pants down this time. A total incompetent can often get away with posing as someone who is capable, when the boat has alot of tailwind, and things are going very smoothly. I assume, with their degree of hubris, they just assumed that would be the case. But, in the event of an emergency, a nation needs calm, capable, and experienced people at the helm. The boat is absolutely rudderless at the moment.

Prayuth has literally disappeared from view, and it appears he has no idea what to say or do at the moment. Incompetence can be a terrible thing. Thailand is really paying the price for allowing the hapless army to run the show.

Old English saying.

When the Brown and Smelly hits the whirling thing - duck, and let it hit somebody else, and hopefully it will stick.

Calm, capable and experienced people are really not in good supply in Thailand at the moment

The Westerdam has been denied permission to berth at Laem Chabang Port in Chonburi because most of its passengers are from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland

WRONG !!!

About half of the passengers boarded in HK, the rest in Singapore earlier !!!

1 passenger had a fever due to the flu, that passenger boarded in Singapore and was already sick before they arrived in HK.

A friend is first officer on board. And the passenger list with only the countries of origin was published over a week ago !

Check your stats before publishing !!!
Or blame the Thai government telling complete lies !!!

OMG

This thing could possibly go really Ballistic in the number of cases if the Indian Authorities do not get to grips with this in some kind of rapid fashion.

I hate to imagine the outcome if the Virus gets a hold in this Country with its 1.3 Billion Inhabitants, who mostly live in poor living conditions.

Absolutely

I am not so sure about that. There are alot of smart, capable people here. It is not the short supply. But, rather the desire to select without regard to merit, or experience, taking into account only cronyism, that is the real issue here.

Typical Thai move plus PR stunt. He tells Westerners to Fxxk Off and now tries to make good the disrespectful remarks against the very people that have supported, help finance and assisted in times of need.

Pathetic! The racist minister should do the decent thing by resigning!

Most of the passengers on the Westerdam were from Canada, Germany and Holland.

Where did all these Chinese that were aboard come from ? were they stowaways

The passengers include 650 from the US, 271 from Canada, 127 from the UK and 91 from the Netherlands, with smaller numbers of people from Australia, Germany, China and other countries.
