Popular Post Tarteso
On the road way to dinner with wife close to Mae Taeng, We saw on the left side of the road, about 1 km. yes, ONE KILOMETER Line of fire on the forest. Spreading the smog to the road. Thanks that we are ready next weekend to RUN and ESCAPE avoiding this burning season like every years to any beach in southern Th. and come back after Song Kran Festival. A simple question; What happen with this people? WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING IN THE MIND OF THIS PEOPLE? ???? qdinthailand
There's no ban currently on burning. That starts sometime in March. So everyone is having to move their burning up earlier. Not as effective as when they wait till March/April (lots more leaves to fall, more undergrowth to dry up) but if the government is going to make it illegal then, better do it now. Now ask yourself, if they don't burn annually/semi-annually, what sort of long-term danger is brewing if the dead matter keeps building up on the forest floor? Wild fires like in the U.S. and Australia?

Chiang Mai governor Charoenrit Sa-nguansat, to ban burning effective for 80 days (10th January – 30th April 2020) Translated in to Thai means burn everything in sight for 4 months. That's why the burning is done at night. Edited February 14, 2020 by TigerandDog spelling correction

Popular Post moe666
Ok think about it, last year huge fire around Chiang Rai because they had not been able to burn off the last two years. Do you folks in the brain trust want CM to be a austrialia problem or a bit of burning every year to burn of leaves and debries on the forest floor. 1

Wild fires like in the U.S. and Australia? Not condoning the practice, but wildfires like Australia are unlikely. The difference is wind. In Australia, winds can be up to 100 km/hr, and they push ember attacks 40 km ahead of the fire front. I don't think I've seen wind in Thailand above 20 km/hr in 10 years here.
