webfact Posted February 14, 2020 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Foreigner steals shopkeeper's phone - they want to sell up and move after five thefts CCTV footage from a convenience store in Tak in north western Thailand showed the moment when a foreign man grabbed a shop owner's phone and ran off. The incident happened at 3pm on Tuesday in the store on the Mae Sot to Rim Moei Road. The lady said that the man - who had a full beard and moustache - had come into the store and was bargaining with her in English. He said he had no money and asked to be directed to an ATM. After waiting in front of the store he came back and under the pretext of talking about goods he grabbed her phone and disappeared. The couple who run the shop said that this was the fifth time they have experienced theft and they are now considering packing up and going elsewhere. The local police have been informed.
