Thai nabbed for bringing pork sausages to Japan

A Thai national has been arrested for bringing sausages containing pork from Thailand into Japan, said the Animal Quarantine Service under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (AQS). Import of food products with pork as an ingredient is prohibited in Japan, in response to the prevalence of African swine fever (ASF) in several Asian countries.

PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron suffered a setback on Friday when one of his closest lieutenants, Benjamin Griveaux, pulled out of the race to become mayor of Paris after it was alleged he sent sexual images to a woman who is not his wife.

BEIJING (Reuters) - The Chinese capital Beijing on Friday imposed a 14-day self-quarantine on people returning to the city from holidays to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, and threatened to punish those who failed to comply.

MANCHESTER, England (Reuters) - English champions Manchester City have been banned from European competition for the next two seasons and fined 30 million euros ($32.53 million) by European soccer's governing body UEFA after an investigation into alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
