rooster59
E-Chan suspend online news service for 5 days over its mass shooting coverage E-Chan, a popular online news service with a large following, has agreed to go offline for five days from tomorrow (Saturday), over its live coverage of the mass shooting in Korat last weekend. E-Chan offered a public apology and accepted responsibility for errors in its reporting and live broadcast of the tragic event which, it said, led to public criticism of the broadcast media’s coverage, which allegedly interfered with the official operations underway to end the siege at the Terminal 21 shopping mall. They also said that they would take disciplinary action against members of its news team, to remind them of the need to be aware of their responsibility to the public. It will also withdraw complaints filed with the police against some of its followers.
