Daily News published shocking footage of the moment when Terminal 21 shooter Jakrapanth Thomma went to the armory at the Suratham Pithak army base last Saturday afternoon.

 

Everything seems to be normal as he engages 21 year old Metha Lerdsiri or Bank in conversation. The conscript was on duty at the armory.

 

He walks off into a side room and Jakrapanth takes aim at his back firing two shots. The private died later in hospital the same day.

 

Jakrapanth then shoots at the door of the armory to gain access to weaponry that he then used in his murderous assault on the way to and inside the Terminal 21 shopping center in downtown Nakhon Ratchasima.

 

Within eighteen hours 30 people including the shooter himself were dead in an incident that has shaken Thailand to its core.

 

Big enquiries are underway regarding security at the Thai army's weapons' depots, notes Thaivisa.

So you have a 21 year old in charge of an armoury and not sure if he had a pistol the way he put his hand by his right side and seemed to take it away when he seen the guy , guess he recognised him so thought nothing wrong .

But to have that level of security at an army base for the armoury shows how dumb people here really are !! That is completely bonkers !! ????????

Totally insecure - I suspected as much. I wish I could be as optimistic as those who believe security will change now.

 

The procedures look totally lax as well.  Obviously a guess but it looks as though he's asked the amoury guy for ammunition for the gun he's carrying and the guy looks like he goes off to get it. If that's the case, where's the written orders? You just walk in and ask for a case of ammo?

Normally the Thai ALWAYS work in couples, they never do anything alone. Even the aircon cleaners here come with a team of 3, the waterfilter replacers come by 2, the gardeners by 4....but to guard a weapon depot there's only 1!??
