Level of PM2.5 dust particulate matter in Bangkok and its vicinity is likely to increase but would not exceed Thai standards, based on the records of 56 air-quality monitoring stations.

Pollution Control Department reported that, as of  3pm today ( February 17),  PM2.5  in Bangkok and vicinity was at a  range of 10 – 27 microgrammes per cubic metre or  18 microgrammes per cubic metre on average,  not exceeding the international standard of  25 microgrammes per cubic metre and the Thai standard of  50 microgrammes.

The department said the level of dust tended to increase in midday but not to a hazardous level and outdoor activities were still safe.

Why settle for less?

Maybe to be in conformity with the other surrounding countries and incidentally the USA and Europe where the standard not to be exceeded is half less..

But I forgot that khun Prayuth knows better than everyone, even that god if he exists ...

Across Thailand the situation is very critical, but nobody does anything!

30la, you're so right.

I'm thinking the same. Each day.

Do you have any idea, who could do anything today, tomorrow, next week, next month?

I'd really love to read some input, from everyone on thaivisa.com

A very interesting website is working again.

http://berkeleyearth.org/air-pollution-overview

I think, we can not influence (the dirt in the air coming from) our neighbours.

So, let's start here !?

But who and where?

Last night on beach rd I counted 12 bhat buses in a row, idleing in traffic ,each one, a rattling smoke belching old diesel ....some changes in the quality of public transport vehicles would be a place to start...but don't hold your breath....better yet don't go outside...
